Careful on those mountains!

It’s great to see that a bunch of people are making their way up to Ambleside this weekend for our latest “project“. I say project as if this is something that is part of a grand plan. It isn’t – DavidC and I just wanted to form something to act as a platform to create quick / agile / hyper (add your buzzword of choice) interventions, that hopefully mixed together some nice people, some tech and something in need.
A platform is something to build upon, but shouln’t be the only one in town. We found inspiration in the work of MuseumInADay, BCCDIY, Bashmash and the growing list of social media surgeries. After this weekend, maybe TWDT will be something else. Maybe some people will pull their own together. It’s all good. And possible.
Good luck to everyone this weekend. The food wiki looks delicious btw!

It’s a cracking idea well done. Really looking forward to it! There are a couple of Emergency 4×4 rescue teams that could do with new websites in the North East. Can’t wait to see how this weekend works out with the possibility of rolling it out a bit further.

Sounds really cool! Disappointed that I am busy this weekend otherwise I would loved to have come along.
Am willing to help at a distance with something small possible if you guys want, would be interested in doing something with the Twitter API (you know how much of a fan I am!) but not sure what so any ideas would be welcome!

@DuncanH yes, some twitter action might be good! I guess the first thing to is check the wiki (http://lamrt.bluwiki.com/) and post up an idea? Maybe setting up and configuring a Twitter account to use for alerts could be an idea… or maybe there is an elaboration on the #uksnow stuff – but that might be for another weekend!

@Danny – yeah, could be something to scale! Look forward to seeing some results this weekend, but no pressure
